Steven Appelbaum joined Kishner Miller Himes in June 2023. Prior to joining the firm, Steven practiced at Davidoff Hutcher & Citron LLP as a commercial litigator, as well as at Oved & Oved LLP, focusing on a wide range of commercial disputes and transactional matters.

Steven’s practice focuses on all areas of complex commercial and real estate litigation. His representation has involved commercial contracts, employment agreements, real estate disputes, construction contracts, co-op and condominium disputes, intellectual property, and trusts and estate litigation.

Steven has also represented clients in negotiating license agreements, real estate transactions, and all matters of intellectual property, including obtaining and maintaining trademarks with the United States Patent and Trademark Office and globally.

When not practicing law, Steven enjoying watching sports, kayaking and spending time with his family.

Representative Matters

  • Successfully moved to dismiss a class action lawsuit against a condominium board in federal and state courts
  • Obtained a mandatory injunction and prejudgment attachment against a billionaire judgment debtor and ultimately obtained a favorable settlement
  • Represented commercial tenant in eviction proceeding and obtained favorable settlement
  • Negotiated favorable severance package and avoided litigation for partner of financial consulting firm
  • Successfully negotiated favorable settlement of multi-million dollar life insurance death benefits claim
  • Successfully reduced arbitration award in federal court and obtained custodial expenses for maintenance of a yacht
  • Negotiated favorable settlement for damages caused to client’s vacation rental home
