Avery L. L. Nickerson joined Kishner Miller Himes P.C. as an associate in November 2021. Prior to joining the firm, Avery began her legal career at Mound Cotton Wollan & Greengrass LLP, a premiere insurance defense firm; her practice there primarily focused on matters related to construction defects, crisis management, and professional liability.

Avery represents clients in state and federal court at all levels of litigation in a variety of disputes, including complex commercial litigation, business litigation, real estate litigation, and insurance litigation. Over the course of her career, Avery has litigated matters involving tortious conduct, real property disputes, first-party property damage, product contamination, product recalls, and cybersecurity breaches. In addition to litigation, Avery’s practice includes representing clients in real estate and business transactions. Clients value Avery’s thoughtful and creative arguments, as well as her keen attention to detail.

Avery graduated from Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law in 2018. During law school, Avery was a legal intern at the Innocence Project, where she handled complex legal issues involving the wrongful incarceration of her clients. She also managed a variety of property and employment contractual claims, as well as intellectual property claims, while working as a legal intern for a presidential campaign.

Avery attended the University of San Diego and received her B.A. in Marine Science, with a minor in Chemistry.
